Summary:
This series consists of records of the commissioners of Indian affairs and of state Indian agents. A law of 1779 appointed commissioners to ensure the security of the people of the state against future hostilities, and to demand compensation from Indians for previous hostilities. The commissioners were to be compensated for expenses incurred in carrying out their duties.
