Scope and Content Note

This series contains vouchers maintained by the clerks of the Senate and Assembly which consist of a statement of moneys received and disbursed and submitted to the Comptroller's Office for auditing. Allocations for Senate and Assembly contingency expenses were received from the Treasurer and later from the Comptroller.

The titles on the various bundles of vouchers vary from "contingency expenses" (1802); "statement of special accounts" (1896-1897); "statement of moneys received and disbursed by the Clerk..." (1911); to "State of New York Sundry Accounts" (1915). Vouchers and includes expenses for such purposes as cleaning costs; stationery supplies; engrossing, publishing and binding expenses; and articles of hardware.
