Scope and Content Note

This volume contains the results of every claim presented to the Auditing Board. The record for each claim contains the following information: claim number; classification (designated by capitalized or lower case letter); name of claimant; address (usually city or town); by whom claim was presented; date claim was filed; description of claim; amount claimed; description of board's actions; and final disposition. A description of the various criteria used to classify each claim, including those both allowed and disallowed, can be found in the Auditing Board's final report to the Legislature (Assembly Document No. 157, 1863).
