This series consists of two folio-sized volumes containing records of relief payments made by the Joint Volunteer Relief Committee of Albany, otherwise known as the Military Relief Committee.
The pay roll provides name of the recipient; street address; regiment and company; marital status (including number of children); remarks; amount of weekly allowance; and a record of weekly payments disbursed. In addition, volume one contains a printed map of the City of Albany dated 1851.
