This series contains mostly perfunctory correspondence between the War Information Service and other agencies involved in war work as part of the office's duty to coordinate information about home front programs. The correspondence discusses information to be included in annual reports or information which the office was to disseminate in press releases.
Some carbon-copy letters exchanged between agencies (apparently sent to the office for informational purposes), requests to federal agencies for various materials, and a small amount of material relating to publicity strategy are also found.
The New York State Archives is part of the Office of Cultural Education, an office of the New York State Education Department.
