This series contains clippings collected by the Office of Civilian Mobilization (OCM) documenting the activities of local
war councils in home front programs; civil defense work; and sometimes the communities' war-related activities such as war
plant production. Typical subjects found in this series include: Block Plan (in which volunteers promoted OCM activities in
their neighborhoods); child care; civil defense; farm labor; first aid; nursing; nutrition; salvage; volunteer recruitment;
war training; and women's volunteer activities.
