Scope and Content Note
This series contains descriptions of maps of bulkhead, pier lines and encroachments of New York Harbor, as well as portions of the shores of New Jersey, the Harlem River, the East River, Long Island, and Westchester County, created pursuant to Chapter 121 of the Laws of 1855. Many of the maps described are part of series B2570, New York State New York Harbor Commission Bulkhead and Pier Lines and Encroachment Maps, although some are still held by the New York State Office of General Services.
The New York State Archives is part of the Office of Cultural Education, an office of the New York State Education Department.
