The contents of this series were withdrawn by state paleontologists or other staff from several State Museum record groups. The records were collected by State Geological Survey staff from scattered sources among their holdings, and transferred to the State Archives ca. 1995. The accession is a product of the stack inventory project conducted by Archives staff in April 2000.
