Scope and Content Note

This series consists of archival copies of the publicly accessible website of the Waterfront Commission of New York Harbor.

B2347-12: This accretion consists of a copy of the commission's Web site produced on February 2, 2012. It contains information about the commission's history and mission, annual reports (2008-2011), and biographies of commissioners and directors. Also included are news releases and articles (2002-2012) documenting actions taken by the commission, law enforcement agencies, and state and federal courts against waterfront employees and union officials who associated with known organized crime figures or engaged in theft, drug trafficking, extortion, and other criminal acts.

B2347-16: This accretion consists of a copy of the commission's Web site that was produced on December 6, 2016. Most of the information included in this copy is also present in the February 12, 2012 copy of the site, but this copy contains additional annual reports (2008-2013) news releases and articles (2002-2016) documenting actions taken against waterfront employees and union officials who associated with known organized crime figures or engaged in criminal activity. Other items of note include proposed amendments (2013-2016) to regulations governing the hiring and employment of waterfront workers and announcements (2013-2017) concerning public meetings and related matters.

B2347-19: This accretion consists of a copy of the commission's website that was produced on October 5, 2019, during the third term of office of Governor Andrew M. Cuomo (2011- ). Most of the information contained within this copy is also present in previous copies of the site, but this copy includes updated information about the commission's leadership and additional news releases (2002-2019) concerning actions taken against waterfront employees who associated with known organized crime figures or committed criminal acts.
