Scope and Content Note

These films relate to the Department of Agriculture and Markets' promotion of the agricultural economy in New York State. For the most part, the reels in this collection either directly address regional agricultural markets and farming initiatives or feature programming explicitly geared toward promoting the dairy industry by encouraging increased milk consumption.

The 16mm motion picture films depict regional agricultural activities, recreational events, and publicity campaigns. The titles are Old Albany Market (1930); Cherry Picking (1930); Buffalo (1931); Albany (1940); East Williamson (1935); Rochester (1949); Dedication (1949); Potato Field Day (undated, probably 1930s); Tip Tops in Peppyland (circa 1934); Our Milky Way (1940.)

All of the films are black and white and silent except for Our Milky Way which is in Technicolor and has a sound track.
