Administrative History
Present at the hearings were the Director of the Division of the Budget and members of his staff. Often the Governor and Lieutenant Governor and other members of the Executive Chamber were also present. Representing each state department were the commissioner, deputy commissioner, and various other department staff. For departments that were responsible for institutions such as Corrections, Health, and Mental Hygiene, the directors and other staff from individual institutions were also present to explain budget requests.
