This series consists of the Ways and Means Committee's copy of transcripts of hearings before the Governor and the Director
of the Budget on requests by 28 state departments for appropriations for the 1942-1943 fiscal year. Department staff testimony
provides detail, program descriptions for the current and previous years, and justification for increased funding for the
1942- 1943. There is documentation on the programs for many prisons, hospitals, schools and other state institutions.
